Audrey’s passion for art is rooted in her years growing up in southern Italy, where her studies led her to apprentice at the Royal Opera House in Naples, Italy, Teatro di San Carlo, assisting in set design. After moving to the States, she raised two children in the “real world” before returning to art as a vocation.
For nearly 30 years, Audrey owned and operated a decorative painting business specializing in faux finishes, mural work and painted furniture. Much of these learned techniques, particularly gold, silver and copper leaf, are transferred to her artwork on canvas and are in private collections across the country. With a particular affinity for nature, many of her paintings focus on birds, moons, trees and underwater creatures. Being restless as well as curious and experimental, you will find the occasional series of any number of subjects! Today, Audrey exhibits her work in the Virginia, Maryland, D.C. area. She is also available for commission work.
Being somewhat of a nomad, Audrey always seeks out community theaters to honor the spark that started her art career. She enjoys creating backdrops and props for the theater productions.
